Here is an easy, healthy pizza dough recipe!
Whole Wheat & Vegetable Pizza
Ingredients
(Makes 6 pizzas)
2 1/2cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
2 tsp salt
2 cups warm water
1 tbs dry active yeast
olive oil
Directions
1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let stand for 5min.
2.Stir in all-purpose flour and salt, then mix in the whole-wheat flour until dough starts to come together. (Tip: dough should not stick to the bowl, but should still be sticky)
3. Turn out onto floured work surface and knead about 7~10 minutes until it's smooth.
(If it's still sticky add some more whole-wheat flour)
4. Place dough in lightly oiled bowl, and turn to coat the surface. Cover with a wet towel, and let stand in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1~1.5 hours.
5.Cut dough into six parts, roll into balls, cover and let rest about 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Transfer stretched dough to parchment.(about 12 inches)
Spread sauce on dough and add your favorite toppings.
6. Bake for 13~16 minutes in the preheated oven, until the crust is crisp and the cheese (if you are using cheese) has turned brown.
*I added tomato sauce, green pepper chopped, onion chopped and cheese.
After baked, I added raw baby lettuce and red onion.
*Tomato sauce...6 tomatoes, 2tbs ketchup, 2 tbs oregano,1 tbs basil, 1 tbs garlic and 1/2 tsp salt simmered for 40 minutes.
Side Dish Salad
(Cabbage, Red Cabbage and Basil Dressing with Peacan)
Enjoy!
