Wash potatoes well, and steam until a bamboo skewer easily goes in.

- Steaming time (approx. 15-25 min) depends on the size and type of potatoes .
- If you prefer to microwave, wrap each potato in plastic film and microwave until soft.
- For people who tend to sprinkle too much salt on their food, provide salted butter only instead of salt and butter.
- In Japan, potatoes and satsumaimo sweet potatoes are common choices as plants for kids to grow in kindergarten or elementary school as part of science class, and this is a way for kids to enjoy their crop.
