I love granola bars, they are really convenient and delicious.
But granola bars from the supermarkets have a lot of sugar and syrup... If you eat refined white sugar and corn syrup every day it's unhealthy...(check out some info below).
So homemade granola is healthy, cheap and delicious!

Coconut Flakes


Ingredients

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup coconut flakes
sliced almonds or another kind of nut
1/2 cup peanut butter (make soft)
1/4 cup agave syrup or honey (make soft)



Directions
(oven:350°F)

1. In a bowl, conbine the three ingredients. Combine the peanut butter and syrup. After you combine both mixtures and pour a pan.

2. Bake for 30~40 minutes, until the granola is golden brown.

3. Remove from the oven, and then cool completely.

4. With fruit, it's good for breakfast!

Tips about sugar!

Although we need sugar, there are some good sugars and bad sugars for our body.
The good sugars are from fruits, beans, vegetables.
Unhealthy sugars are it called
Glucose, Dextrose, Sucrose...
White sugar, icing and candies, and sweet substances contain syrup
It is cheap and sweet, a lot of juice and ketchup has this too.
Just a little bit ... no problem, but, if you eat every day ...It's really unhealthy.
These Sugar removed vitamins and minerals when sugars are purified to pure white. White sugar has some chemicals.
All of these things combined will bring on
hypertension, fatigue, obesity, constipation...they basically make your body tired.

So if you love to eat sugar, I recommend natural sugar.
Fruit, real maple syrup,
unrefined beet sugar, or agave syrup are good substitutes.
Natural sugar has unrefined vitamins and contains many minerals. So there is nothing taken away from your body and you can get some healthy vitamins and minerals from the sugar.
