Fish Bee Hoon Soup

Since bee hoon is made of rice flour, it should be alright for him to eat it since he has no allergy to rice. The fish slices I am using is threadfin fish (kurau fish). You can experiment with other types of fish that you think is suitable for this recipe.

Th bee hoon need to be soaked for about half an hour or so to soften it before using it to cook.

Ingredients:
2 1/2 to 3 tablespoon of bee hoon (after soaking in water, you can cut it up using scissors into shorter strands)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of chopped spinach
1 chopped baby carrot
1 teaspoon of garlic
1 teaspoon of onions
1 tablespoon of fish slices (cut into thin and small pieces, ensure there is no more fish bone in the slices)
300 ml of water

Procedures:
(1) Sauteed onions and garlic in olive oil till fragrant.
(2) Add in carrots and stir well.
(3) Add in the fish slices and stir for awhile more.
(4) Add in the water and let it boiled then simmer for 20 minutes at low fire.
(5) Add in bee hoon and let it boiled for another 5 minutes.
(6) Then add in spinach and stir for another 1-2 minutes.
(7) If you child still not so proficient in chewing or prefer blended food, you can scoop out the bee hoon with the ingredients without the soup, then blend for awhile then mix the blended ingredients with soup and serve.

My boy's reaction:
He seems to enjoy the food for awhile then when he realized he needs to chew before swallowing, he become disinterested. Managed to let him finish up the soup and most of the bee hoon.

His age:
1 year, 2 months and 4 weeks old

How the food looks like:

Notes:
This recipe is suitable for lunch or dinner.
