Baby products from Japan 2: Panda Rice Mould
+Karaage: Japanese style fried chicken
My baby daughter started to be looked after by a local childminder during the day and this mould became one of the coolest items to prepare her lunch box. To rehearse the panda rice, I made many pandas for Mr. Husband's bento together with karaage, the Japanese style fried chicken.
Mr. Husband's bento contents: Panda rice, karaage, omelette, tomato, cucumber, potato salad |
Here is the real part.
Daughter's bento contents: Panda rice, karaage and potato, carrot and beans stirfred with mayonnaise and oyster sauce. The left is tomato and sausage soup. |
I couldn't resist buying this product once I found in Japan.
1. Stuff the rice tightly in the mould then press it with the lid |
2. place the moulded rice in the bento box |
3. Punch panda face parts with a nori, seaweed black paper |
4. Attach face parts to the moulded rice |
Pandas are ready!! |
Unfortunately, cannot find the one outside Japan.
Here is the similar rice mould item found in Japan Centre London.
