Yaki Udon is a popular dish in Japanese homes.
Here is the recipe
(Vegetarian Yaki Udon recipe)
Ingredients
(serve 2)
1 onion sliced thin
2 leaves cabbage (cut into 1 inch )
1/2 carrot (cut into 2 inch-long thin strips)
1/4 green pepper (cut into 2 inch-long thin strips)
1 spring onion chopped
2 people udon noodles
Sauce
2tbs worcestershire sauce
2tbs soy sauce
salt and pepper
1/2tbs kombucha (option)
peanuts (option)
Directions
1.Boil the Udon noodles for 3 minute (follow package instructions for dried Udon)
And cut the vegetables.
2.Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and cook the onions for 2 minutes and add carrots and saute few minutes.
3.Add cabbage, green pepper and saute for 1 minute, add Udon noodles and saute.
4.Add sauce ingredients, then transfer to a serving dish.
(option)Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.
Usual we put some Katsuobushi (Bonito flakes) and Benishouga (Pickled red ginger) on top.
But I don't have them at the moment, so I used peanuts!
