Coldplay's concert in Korea

Spring has sprung in Seoul and a picture with cherry blossoms is a must-have on both your Instagram account and Facebook profile. However, this is not the only amazing thing happening these days in Korea. In April, Seoulites experienced a stunning show given by Coldplay on two nights at the Seoul Olympic Stadium.
Coldplay is a British alternative rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist and keyboardist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland at University College London (UCL). Recently, the band has been touring across some of the biggest stadiums in the world with their new tour “A Head Full of Dreams,” launched in support of their namesake seventh studio album, "A Head Full of Dreams."
During the two concerts, Coldplay gathered almost 100,000 people, becoming the single-largest musical event ever in Korea by a non-Korean artist. The show itself was outstanding with its extensive laser lights and pyrotechnic visuals, similar to the Mylo Xyloto Tour, and with the reappearance of the Xylobands as a central part of the show's visual design.
It was highly meaningful for the people of Korea. At the beginning of the second show, the front man, Chris Martin, stopped the performance and paid tribute to the victims of the Sewol ferry tragedy, and later on he sang a specially written short song dedicated to Korea and to the band’s concert in Seoul on Easter Day. He also highlighted the complicated political situation in the world at the moment, pointing out that, “Love from Korea should be sent to all regions that need it right now, including Syria, North Korea and the White House in the U.S.”
The show was so vivid and energetic. People were continuously singing and dancing after the show. Martin was paying gratitude to the warm atmosphere during those two nights in Seoul and said that he wanted “to play in Seoul every week from now on.”
For me it also was an unforgettable experience when thousands of people were united by music and were sending their love to people who are suffering at this moment somewhere far away.
